Artventure

Artventure is a Visual Art textbook and sketchpad that guides students through all three
years of the Junior Cycle Visual Art course with a wealth of information, activities and
tasks to achieve all learning outcomes and prepare them for their Classroom-Based
Assessments and the Final Assessment.

Six detailed units:

• Strand 1: Art
• Strand 2: Craft
• Strand 3: Design
• Assessment

Learning intentions, key terms and required tools and materials are listed at the beginning of each section.

Information and advice on different artistic methods and tools are integrated organically throughout. Key concepts are clearly explained in student-friendly language, with important definitions highlighted and visual diagrams included as needed.

There are ample opportunities to explore artistic techniques, media and styles through formative and summative tasks.

Reflection questions allow students to reflect on their learning and take on feedback.

Opportunities to examine, discuss and be inspired by works from visual culture are
included in each chapter. Discussion questions are provided to aid engagement.

Students can test their knowledge, reflect on and assess their learning in the Chapter Review section at the end of each chapter.

Plenty of drawing space is provided for students to document their artistic journey.
